Job Summary

Conduct risk assessment, education, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer. Obtain personal and family medical histories, assess cancer and germline mutation risks, and determine if genetic testing is indicated based on national guidelines. Interpret test results, provide post-test counseling, discuss screening and prevention recommendations, and coordinate cascade testing for relatives. Maintain patient charting, billing submissions, and detailed reports for referring providers. Collaborate with physicians on multidisciplinary teams, critically assess literature, and design clinical protocols to meet CoC and NAPBC standards. Monitor program quality, supervise students, participate in case conferences and committees, and pursue continuing education to maintain certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in genetic counseling
  • Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC)
  • Exceptional communication skills
