Job Summary
Conduct risk assessments, education, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer by obtaining personal and family medical histories. Assess cancer risks and germline mutation potential, determine genetic testing indications based on national guidelines, and interpret test results to provide post-test counseling and medical management recommendations. Collaborate with physicians on multidisciplinary teams, supervise counseling students, and participate in research activities including protocol development and manuscript publication. Monitor program quality and safety, implement clinical protocols, and contribute to professional development through lectures and committee participation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in genetic counseling
- Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC)
- Exceptional communication skills
