Job Summary
The Genetic Counselor I will provide genetic counseling services to patients and families, review patient information and family history, conduct risk assessments, and recommend genetic testing based on analysis. They will assess inherited risks, communicate results to help patients and families understand medical, psychological, and familial implications of genetic contributions to disease, and work with physicians to create treatment options and connect families with community resources. They will collaborate with insurance specialists to understand benefits and assist with appeals and letters of medical necessity as needed for patient care and testing. This role requires strong knowledge of human genetic disorders, excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to translate complex information into understandable guidance for patients. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in genetic counseling or genetics from an ACGC-accredited program with Board Eligibility required
