Job Summary
Genetec Security Engineer within ITS IT Infrastructure Engineering for the City of New York. Responsibilities include overseeing the design, architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of the Genetec Security Center platform (Omnicast video management and Synergis access control), managing a large-scale hybrid environment with Directory, Archiver, Failover servers, cloud access control, wired IP cameras, biometrics, and video analytics; leading large-scale security infrastructure projects, mentoring junior staff, ensuring reliability, resilience, and readiness for AI/cloud-based rollouts; installing and maintaining Genetec components, coordinating with contractors and internal teams, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards, creating system diagrams and dashboards, and guiding CCTV strategy toward scalable, service-oriented delivery.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above.
