Job Summary
Visually inspect and diagnose issues with natural gas and/or gasoline-powered standby commercial generators, performing routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and servicing mechanical components. Troubleshoot and service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), conduct load bank testing, and educate end users on proper operation. Read technical manuals and schematics while maintaining accurate records of all inspections and repairs. Operate a company vehicle to complete fleet maintenance reports and commute to job sites across Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire. Work Monday through Friday with overtime available, supporting Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc.'s commitment to keeping businesses and facilities running efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- at least eight years of recent, hands-on experience performing generator preventive maintenance and repairs
- strong commercial electrical knowledge related to stationary generators and their optimal performance
- Minimum of eight years of recent experience performing commercial generator maintenance
- Basic understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and general electrical safety practices
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background check
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and emails
- Must possess personal hand tools required to perform mechanical work and voltage testing
- Willingness to commute to various job sites using company vehicles within Orange County, Los Angeles County, and/or the Inland Empire
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
