Job Summary
Generator Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test generator systems from 5 kW to 4000 kW; interact with customers; read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics; must be able to work varying shifts including weekends/holidays and on-call rotations with occasional out-of-town travel. Mechanical and electrical aptitude required; technical schooling in automotive/transportation or related fields is a plus; certified journeyman electrician is a plus but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly with diesel generators
- Technical schooling in automotive or transportation fields, commercial or residential electric, or like military experience a plus
- Willingness to learn and use new technologies
- Able to travel with occasional out of town travel/overnight stays
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes per OSHA regulations
