Generator Technician

Job Summary
Generator Technician sought to service, repair, modify and diagnose standby power generators (up to 750kW) across commercial/industrial sites (hospitals, nursing homes, office buildings, fire stations, events, etc.). Responsibilities include failure analysis, emergency field service and repairs, start-ups, PMs, load bank tests, and maintenance of ATSs (regular and bypass). Will operate and manage the company service truck and parts inventory, check/repair supporting systems (fuel, cooling, electrical), and handle a variety of generator brands (Kohler, Cummins, MTU, Generac, CAT, etc.). Must have 3+ years of generator experience, tools, and strong English communication; capable of working OT/weekends, and mentoring less experienced technicians. Stay proficient in ATS/switchgear; field service across diverse sites; prioridad on safety and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working on standby generators and related equipment up to 750kW
- Able to conduct a load bank test and perform full PMs
- Must have own tools, or ability to obtain tools if offered the position
- Strong written and verbal English skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self-starter and ability to work independently in the field
- Able to mentor and assist less experienced technicians with difficult tasks
- ATS and switchgear experience
- Experience with brands such as Kohler, Cummins, MTU, Generac, CAT (preferred)
