Job Summary
Generator Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and natural gas generator systems ranging from 5kW to 5MW, diagnose and service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) including bypass isolation and closed transition systems, troubleshoot AC/DC electrical circuits, perform load bank testing, generator start-ups and commissioning on new installations, and complete warranty repairs. Role requires field service from a home-based model, clear customer communication, documentation of findings and status, and collaboration with other technicians on large projects; expects extensive travel with some overnight stays and physical work including lifting up to 75 lbs. Leverages associate-level electrical/mechanical training, hands-on troubleshooting, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and digital service documentation tools. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience servicing diesel and/or natural gas generators and electrical power systems
- Associate degree in electrical or mechanical field preferred
- Generac certification preferred
- Ability to travel extensively with some overnight stays
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and digital service documentation tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions
