Job Summary
Generator Technician to service, repair, modify and diagnose standby power generators across commercial/industrial sites in the San Antonio/Austin area. Responsibilities include failure analysis, emergency field service and repairs, start-ups, PM services, load bank tests, and maintaining ATSs (both regular and bypass units) on a variety of brands. Requires experience with standby generators up to 2 MW, natural gas and/or diesel engines, PLC and generator controllers, and ATS/switchgear. Fieldwork will cover hospitals, nursing homes, office buildings, fire stations, correctional facilities, events, and other customer sites. Strong emphasis on hands-on diagnostics, maintenance, and on-site service; training and certifications provided by the employer. Required Qualifications
- Experience working on standby generators and related equipment up to 2 MW
- Able to conduct a load bank test and perform full PMs
- Natural gas and/or diesel engine knowledge
- ATS and switchgear experience preferred
- PLC engine and generator controllers experience
- Service, repair, modification and diagnosis of standby power generators
- Start-ups, PM service and load bank tests
- Experience working on commercial/industrial sites (hospitals, nursing homes, office buildings, etc)
