Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors at the Santa Fe Springs service center or customer sites. Troubleshoot equipment failures independently or in teams, including setting up and operating machinery on remote locations. Calculate tonnage and kW requirements while interpreting schematics. This role requires full-time availability with potential overtime, weekends, and travel, offering an hourly pay range of $33.00 to $52.00. Candidates must possess 6+ years of experience, a valid driver's license, and pass physical assessments for lifting and climbing. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- 6+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
- Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs
- Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
- Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
- Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
- Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
