Job Summary
Generator Shop Diesel Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining portable generators. Responsibilities include field service repairs, re-fueling, delivering/picking up generators, providing technical support, and occasional travel. Core duties include troubleshooting, prioritizing repairs with operations and fleet managers, ordering parts, operating a forklift, assisting field operations, and driving a company vehicle. On-call rotation may be required for field work; requires extensive diesel engine knowledge and the ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot generator controls across multiple makes. Compensation ranges from $80,080 to $102,960 annually; benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must have extensive knowledge of diesel engines
- Generator experience a plus
- Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Working knowledge of Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators
- Able to use computer and related software to troubleshoot engine and generator controls
- Must have mechanical background
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Ability to drive a company vehicle
- On call rotation (as approved) for field work
