Job Summary
Generator Shop Diesel Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining portable generators; duties include troubleshooting and repairing generator fleets, ordering parts, operating a forklift, assisting field operations, driving a company vehicle, and potential on-call field work. Must have extensive diesel engine knowledge, ability to read wiring diagrams, familiarity with multiple brands of engines/generators (Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, John Deere), and a mechanical background; travel to support field operations may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines
- Generator experience a plus
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Working knowledge of Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators a plus
- Able to use computer and related software to trouble shoot engine and generator controls
- Must have mechanical background
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle
- On call rotation once approved to work in field
