Job Summary
Generator insulation and nonmetallic engineer focused on design, testing, and verification of insulation/nonmetallic components for large electrical generators. Role covers conceptual design, performance analysis, and development of electrical/mechanical/thermal testing plans; interpretation of test results; support for RCA investigations; and lab tooling and equipment development with coordination with manufacturing, suppliers, and business partners to ensure design intent from concept to finished product.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering related environments
- Ability to understand high voltage insulation systems and related nonmetallic materials, chemically, thermally, and mechanically
- Analytical, experimental, statistical aptitude
- Ability to be a cross-functional team member with good interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with rotating electrical machinery or electric power engineering
- Experience with mechanical testing for stress strain relationships, life cycle testing
- Demonstrated project management skills, and team player mindset
