Generator Field Service Technician

Job Summary

Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on standby generation equipment, automatic transfer switches, diesel fire pumps, and industrial engines at customer locations. Accurately troubleshoot problems with generators and control systems while utilizing diagnostic tools such as multimeters and OEM software. Make repair recommendations to customers and identify required parts, ensuring all work adheres to established quality standards and safety procedures. Maintain a clean driving record and valid license for field travel. Tech I, II, or III roles include a sign-on bonus of $1000 or $2000. Experience with MTU and Volvo Penta is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical degree
  • Three years related experience with diesel engines, standby generators, and controls
  • Clean driving record
  • valid Driver's License
  • Ability to utilize laptop and portable diagnostic tools
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Able to work independently in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Motivated and reliable with strong work ethic, cooperative team member
