Generator Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and upgrades to standby generation equipment, automatic transfer switches, diesel fire pumps, and industrial engines at customer locations. Accurately troubleshoot generator and engine problems using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, megohm meters, and OEM software. Make repair recommendations to customers and identify required parts while adhering to established quality standards and safety procedures. Utilize laptops and portable diagnostic tools to complete work independently within given deadlines. Tech I through Tech III roles offer a sign-on bonus of $1,000 to $2,000. Experience with MTU and Volvo Penta is highly desirable, though a high school diploma and three years of related experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical degree
- Three years related experience with diesel engines, standby generators, and controls
- Clean driving record
- valid Driver's License
- Ability to utilize laptop and portable diagnostic tools
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Able to work independently in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Motivated and reliable with strong work ethic, cooperative team member
