Job Summary
Generative AI Engineer Intern needed to design, develop and maintain Generative AI applications, advanced AI models, and conversational agents within Protiviti Applications. Responsibilities include using Gen AI techniques such as Retrieval Augmented Generation, Prompt Engineering, and Embeddings to enhance model outcomes, evaluating LLM outputs with appropriate metrics, staying current with AI trends, and communicating results to stakeholders. Ideal candidates are pursuing an undergraduate CS-related degree (graduation 2027) with programming experience (Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL), familiarity with LLM concepts, SQL Server concepts, Cosmos DB, basic cloud knowledge (Azure/AWS), and experience with SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and effective technical communication for varied audiences. The role is a fully virtual internship running June 17 – August 7, 2026, with a base hourly rate of $26 and no sponsorship requirement for U.S. work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program related to computer science, with a graduation year of 2027
- Working knowledge of a programming or scripting language (Python, C#, JavaScript/Typescript, SQL)
- Working knowledge of LLM and Generative AI concepts and its real-world applications
- Working knowledge of evaluating LLM output with appropriate metrics
- Good working knowledge of SQL query language (preferably with Microsoft SQL Server)
- Good understanding of SQL Server DB concepts
- Understanding of No SQL concepts and Cosmos DB
- Understanding of Cloud Platforms is a plus (Azure/AWS)
- Experience with various full cycle software development methodologies, tools and practices
- Good knowledge on software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum
- Ability to interact and communicate with business partners of varying levels of expertise
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Ability to communicate business process to technical resources
- Ability to understand complex process flow diagrams or flowcharts that demonstrate business or system process flow
- Ability to work full 40-hour weeks virtually from June 17 – August 7, 2026 (internship dates cannot be altered)
