Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist (PT, Nights) at Jefferson Health in Turnersville, NJ. Performs and monitors laboratory analyses on patient specimens, follows established protocols, and ensures accurate test results to support clinical diagnoses. Responsibilities include specimen processing, phlebotomy at specific locations, visual inspection of specimens, QC documentation, data entry into LIS, operation and maintenance of analytical instruments, troubleshooting, and adherence to regulatory standards. Participates in proficiency testing and in-hospital/lab in-services, and may provide technical education to other technicians. Requires handling of specimens, knowledge of QC protocols, and collaboration with team members to maintain quality and safety in a hospital laboratory setting. Minimum qualifications vary by path (MLT with associate’s degree or MLS with bachelor’s degree; student training accepted). Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (MLT)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (MLS) preferred
- Training or internship in laboratory setting (student training accepted)
- Ability to perform phlebotomy/venipuncture as needed
- Experience with Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Knowledge of QC procedures and regulatory/accreditation standards
