Job Summary
Per diem Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist (MLT/MLS) performing and monitoring analyses of patient specimens to provide accurate test results. Responsibilities include processing specimens per established protocols, phlebotomy/venipuncture as needed, visual QC checks, specimen documentation, entering data into LIS, operating analytical equipment, maintaining equipment, QC compliance, proficiency testing participation, and potential education/training of other technicians. Shift is evenings and nights; role at Jefferson Health’s Methodist Hospital campus, with emphasis on teamwork and regulatory compliance to support accreditation and quality outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree required (MLT) from an accredited program or completion of Military Medical Laboratory specialist Training
- Bachelor’s Degree required (MLS) from an accredited program or completion of Military Medical Laboratory specialist Training
- Less than 1 year prior training in a laboratory setting (student training accepted)
