Job Summary
Generalist Field Officer supports the Field Delegate in planning, implementing, and monitoring protection and prevention activities in Malakal Sub Delegation with relevant interlocutors, and facilitates activities of colleagues in assistance and health. Builds a network with State authorities and other actors, identifies key interlocutors, and communicates key messages to advance ICRC objectives and field work. Organizes seminars and delivers training on ICRC, Movement and IHL to target audiences; networks with South Sudan Red Cross staff and volunteers where possible with Cooperation Department support. Acts as liaison between ICRC and political authorities, updates interlocutors mapping, maintains contacts, and facilitates ICRC activities. Monitors political, security, and humanitarian conditions; contributes to environmental scanning and analysis; travels within Upper Nile State (Malakal, Panyikang, Pigi, Baliet, Adong, Maban); contributes to PfR planning and reporting; provides translations during communications and conducts workshops; participates in external and internal meetings maintaining confidentiality; contributes to operational reports and field trip reports and prepares written reports on trainings and monitoring visits.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree and vocational training in a humanitarian area, socio-economic development, humanitarian law, human rights, or equivalent field.
