Job Summary
The General Trades Technician is responsible for general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and routine preventative maintenance to ensure efficient operation. The role requires checking, troubleshooting, and making repairs across various systems, while adhering to established safety protocols. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and knowledge of maintenance trades, with at least 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred. The position necessitates physical work, ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds regularly, and computer proficiency. Strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and good communication skills are also required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 1-3 years experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment Preferred
- Have general knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
- Must be a team player, have strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliable
- Must be computer proficient
- DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State Required
Desired Qualifications
- Skills Trade Certification Preferred
- EPA 608 Certification Preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
- Certifications may be required at time of hire and/or obtained within required timeframe
- Requires a self-motivated, team player who can multitask, and prioritize as well as demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
