Job Summary
Perform all routine preventative and curative maintenance on guest room and common area facilities, including light fixtures, furniture, and equipment. Order and monitor fuels, lubricants, and repair parts while maintaining proper inventory levels. Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment in the computerized system, documenting daily service work, replacement costs, and labor hours. Assist with implementing the hotel's preventative maintenance and repair log systems, and participate in instructing colleagues on safety procedures and equipment operation. Prioritize tasks based on guest requests and management directives, ensuring all work adheres to OH&S policies and local statutory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding
- Minimum 2 years' related experience in hotels
- Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
- Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
- Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
- Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
- Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes as per IHG brand standards and local statutory requirements
