Job Summary
Locum tenens General Surgery Physician on a 24-hour on-call schedule (~1 week per month). Performs standard general surgery procedures (including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernias; robotics available) and handles acute care cases (bowel obstruction, perforated ulcer, volvulus) and trauma cases (splenectomy, bowel resection/repair, chest tubes, lines). Credentialing timeframe of 90 days. Requires board certification in ABMS or AOA within 3 years of residency, BLS, and ATLS. Utah licensure is highly preferred with priority given to those licensed; IMLC LOQ acceptable. DEA license required. AMN Healthcare supports malpractice insurance and arranges travel, lodging, rentals, and transportation for contractor providers.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified in American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) within 3 years of residency
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Utah licensure preferred (and Interstate Medical Licensure Compact LOQ in-hand acceptable)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
