General Surgeon on the U.S. Army health care team providing examination, diagnosis, consultation, and treatment, and performing surgeries for Soldiers, retirees, and their families; opportunities for continued education, trainings, and leadership in military medicine; benefits including loan repayment, bonuses, STRAP/ FAP stipends, travel opportunities, and retirement plans; role may include Active Duty or Army Reserve service with associated requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
- Must have a current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
- Must be eligible for board certification
- Must have completed at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship
- Must have completed a training program in general surgery
- Must be a U.S. citizen to serve on Active Duty
- Must have a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve
