Job Summary
Direct all field construction activities and personnel at multiple job sites to ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and safety objectives. Plan and supervise activities including construction methods, sequencing, manpower, materials, and equipment schedules. Manage foremen from various trades, resolve field construction problems, and monitor subcontractor compliance with safety programs and project requirements. Communicate site issues to the Project Manager and owner, assist with claims negotiation, cost forecasts, and monthly pay reviews. Ensure work complies with drawings, maintain open communication between subcontractors, and perform project close-outs. Monitor staffing levels for EEO goals and mentor Project Engineers while recording daily quantities and logs.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of eight years' experience on Demolition, Heavy Civil and/or Heavy Highway construction projects in a General Foreman or Craft Superintendent position
- Knowledge of earthwork, grading and drainage work
- Trench safety experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise small to midsized groups
- Good organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability
- Ability to manage Pipe Installation, Earthwork & Grading operations
- Knowledge of Machine Control systems
- Must be able to Carry tools and equipment
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to see and hear well
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to handle, or feel
- Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects
- Must be able to frequently work or walk on uneven ground
- Must be able to wear steel toed boots at all times
- Must be able to wear approved personal protective equipment
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties while exposed to outside elements or confined spaces
- Must be able to follow set procedures and standards
