Job Summary
General Superintendent for Data Center Construction based in Chesterton, IN. Responsible for field activities, supervising all on-site construction work by subcontractors and self-performed crews; coordinating with Subcontractors to maintain schedule and budget; ensuring equipment is onsite when needed; assisting in preconstruction and budget management; mentoring field staff; maintaining safety, quality, and EEOC compliance; overseeing material procurement, QA/QC, punch lists, inspections, and as-builts; maintaining project documentation and communications; and representing the company in project meetings. Requires 5+ years of field supervision, experience with data center construction, strong client-facing skills, and familiarity with MEP, Civil, Structural, and general building construction; willingness to travel; and a background that favors military veterans. The role emphasizes project scheduling, cost tracking, change orders, and coordination across trades with a focus on meeting customer needs throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years field supervision experience required
- Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects a Plus
- Client Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skills
- Must be familiar with the construction process of critical facilities as it pertains to MEP, Civil, Structural, and General Building Construction
- Responsible for manpower counts of ALL trades active on the project
- Coordinate inspections for areas and trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fireproofing, drywall, steel and concrete
- Willingness to travel to project site / onsite Mon-Fri
- General contractor / construction manager engaged in general building and civil construction
- Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans from all branches a huge plus!
- Solid Project management construction experience
