Job Summary
General Service Technician responsible for oil changes, oil-filter replacement, tire installation/rotation/balancing, fluid and filter checks, tire disposal, store cleanliness, and delivering fast, friendly customer service. Includes promoting sales, applying promotions, pricing knowledge, stocking merchandise, maintaining Big O Tires store appearance, safely operating vehicles (manual and automatic transmissions), training new employees, and complying with company policies. Requires ability to lift up to 75 pounds, valid drivers license, PPE compliance, and eligibility for pre-employment screenings. Position located in Independence, MO with in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 17 years of age (with parental consent) or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
- Ability to obtain Current Motor Vehicle Inspection license within 6 months of eligibility (for Missouri based stores)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Sales abilities
- Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 75 pounds
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
