General Service Technician

Job Summary
General Service Technician responsible for service and installation activities for store products and services. Duties include draining/changing oil and oil filters, tire installation/rotation/balancing and proper torque, checking and filling fluids and replacing filters/lights, unloading tires and merchandise, inspecting and disposing tires, maintaining clean facilities and shelves, delivering fast and friendly customer service, promoting sales through product benefits and promotions, performing sales duties per policy (pricing, vendor check-ins, stocking), maintaining store appearance to Big O Tires standards, safely operating customer vehicles in service areas, completing required training, and assisting with training of new employees. Emphasis on safety, PPE compliance, and adherence to company policies; may perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain Current Motor Vehicle Inspection license within 6 months of eligibility (for Missouri based stores)
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment screenings
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
- Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
- Ability to exchange accurate information with customers
- Ability to work with hazardous materials
- Ability to comply with PPE regulations
- Ability to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
