Job Summary
Lead the Sales Department for WHTM-TV to drive revenue growth across broadcast, digital, and emerging platforms. Develop and execute sales strategies to exceed local, national, and multi-platform revenue goals; expand new business initiatives and strengthen existing client relationships. Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team; manage staffing, budgeting, pricing, inventory, forecasting, and revenue analytics. Collaborate with station and corporate leadership to meet strategic revenue objectives and partner with national sales to maximize opportunities. Oversee accounts receivable and prepare operational records, sales reports, and forecasts to evaluate profitability and business performance. Direct and mentor a skilled sales staff and ensure adherence to company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years of media sales experience
- Previous sales management or leadership experience preferred
- Strong understanding of broadcast, digital, and multi-platform advertising sales
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
- Experience establishing long-range objectives and implementing strategies to achieve business goals
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
