Job Summary
Process meat products using hand tools, knives, and machinery while maintaining safety protocols and quality standards. Stack pallets of finished product up to 17lbs or remove inedible meat and debris from the production floor, requiring repetitive overhead lifting and handling of raw meat. Work on a refrigerated production floor held approximately 38°F, performing tasks that involve standing on concrete or platforms for up to 12-hour shifts in cold, wet, and noisy environments. May be required to work overtime depending on production demands.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Willingness and ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
- Ability to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
- Ability to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
- Ability to work with a knife (if trained)
- Ability to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
- Ability to work in an environment that is wet and humid
- Ability to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Ability to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment
- Ability to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work around strong smells/odors
- Ability to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
- Ability to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
- Ability to walk long distances
- Ability to perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs
- Ability to perform single lifting of heavy objects which can weigh up to 60 lbs
- Ability to lift objects using mechanical assistance
