Job Summary
General Laborer on the 1st shift at Smithfield Foods. You will support producing safe, high-quality meat products on the production line, using hand tools and knives, operating machinery, and collaborating with teammates to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards. Responsibilities include following oral and written instructions, handling repetitive motions, standing for long periods, working in cold (20-40) and warm (>100) environments, wearing PPE, and potentially performing overtime as production demands require. The role requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs or use mechanical assistance when handling objects. Training and certification may be required for certain equipment.
