Job Summary
General Practitioner role in Kinshasa, DRC for a contract assignment with Iqarus. Duties include 24/7 safe clinical care, recognition and treatment of illnesses and minor injuries, trauma stabilization and evacuation coordination, conducting medical examinations and vaccinations, stock control and record-keeping for controlled drugs, escalation to client medical officer and Regional Medical Director as needed, casualty support during mass casualty incidents, and participation in training activities. Requires a medical degree and full licensure, a minimum of 3 years GP experience with postgraduate training in general practice and post-graduate exposure to emergency/prehospital/retrieval medicine, and current ACLS/ALS and ATLS/ITLS/ETC/PHTLS certifications. French language skills are desirable. Rotations are typically 6 weeks on duty and 6 weeks off; flights and accommodation are provided. Required Qualifications
- Fully licensed medical graduate
- At least 3 years of experience as a general practitioner
- Post-graduate training in general practice
- Post-graduate experience in emergency medicine, prehospital medicine and/or retrieval
- Current ACLS/ALS certification
- Current ATLS/ITLS/ETC/PHTLS certification
- Fluency in French is desirable
- Current Practice license or medical registration
