Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate mechanical labor across multiple job sites; develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term labor schedules; ensure appropriate staffing levels and adjust resources as needed; assign tasks, monitor productivity and quality; oversee performance evaluations and address disciplinary issues; collaborate with project managers to understand scope, timelines, and labor requirements; track labor hours and ensure payroll accuracy; assist in preparing project timelines and work schedules; coordinate material and equipment deliveries with labor schedules; serve as main contact for labor-related issues between office, field supervisors, and job sites; work with HR on recruitment, hiring, and training of mechanical labor; communicate with clients, general contractors, and subcontractors regarding labor schedules and project progress; assist in managing labor costs by controlling overtime and ensuring efficient workforce utilization; monitor project budgets and labor expenditures, provide regular reports to upper management; identify potential cost savings through improved labor efficiencies and optimized crew deployment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical installation, including field supervision.
- Prior experience managing labor for a mechanical subcontractor in the construction industry.
- Experience with scheduling software and understanding of labor forecasting.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation techniques, and safety regulations.
