Job Summary
Evaluate and manage common pediatric gastrointestinal conditions with progressive exposure to complex disorders, ordering diagnostic tests and developing evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians. Deliver longitudinal care with appropriate follow-up while coordinating across subspecialists and allied health professionals. Participate in inpatient and after-hours coverage, including weekend and "mommy call" rotations with GI attending support. As School of Medicine faculty, teach residents, medical students, and advanced practice clinicians. Maintain dedicated time in the general pediatric resident clinic.
Required Qualifications
- BC/BE General Pediatrician
- Pediatric Gastroenterology (PGI) focus
- Collaborative work with pediatric gastroenterologists and advanced practice clinicians
- Evaluation and management of common and complex gastrointestinal conditions in children
- Ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests
- Development of evidence-based treatment plans
- Contribution to clinic operations and quality improvement initiatives
- Delivery of longitudinal care with appropriate follow-up
- Coordination across subspecialists, primary care, and allied health professionals
- Participation in inpatient and after-hours coverage
- Availability for weekend rotations
- Availability for 'mommy call' rotations
- Clinical guidance support from GI attending physicians
- Teaching of residents, medical students, and advanced practice clinicians
