Job Summary
Operator needed to tend metal fabrication machinery including cut-off saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, sizers, forming, spinning, and punches. Responsibilities include producing parts as directed, prep and inspect parts, run first-time production parts, participate in job rotation through each cell for cross training, read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, set stops or guides to specified lengths, position workpieces, operate controls, monitor for defects or machine malfunctions, inspect output and record scrap, measure dimensions to ensure accuracy, remove burrs and clean parts, perform 5S activities, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions in English
- Must have the ability to write simple correspondence in English
- Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Must be able to communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, or subordinates by phone, in writing, and/or in person
- Must be able to tell when an operating error is occurring and assist in deciding what to do about it
- Must be able to work within a team environment
- Must posses the ability to work with hand tools
- Must posses the ability to maintain accurate records
