Job Summary
Manage technicians, assist the Service Manager, and supervise daily shop operations to maximize efficiency and profitability. Troubleshoot problem vehicles, road test with customers to duplicate concerns, and help technicians diagnose issues. Check repair orders for recalls, complete labor operations, and obtain authorization codes for warranty repairs. Enroll technicians in training, order special tools, and track internal repair orders including used vehicles. Open and close the Service Department, perform evaluations, and ensure accurate parts and labor times on all repair orders.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- General Motors and ASE training
- Dealership computer skills, e.: Reynolds & Reynolds, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Express,Dealer FX
- Supervisory experience
- Five years Service experience
- Valid in-state drivers
- Excellent communication
