Job Summary
Provide directions and basic assistance to residents, families, and visitors while maintaining a calm, welcoming environment. Assist with opening doors, directing visitors, and other non-clinical support duties as assigned. Report maintenance, environmental, security, or safety concerns to the appropriate department and assist with emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures. Communicate resident concerns and unusual occurrences to supervisors, immediately reporting emergencies, injuries, or suspected abuse in accordance with company policy. Treat residents, families, and coworkers with dignity, courtesy, and respect, promoting a resident-centered environment that respects each individual's privacy and independence. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards while attending required training and staff meetings. Maintain regular, reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to respond appropriately and calmly in emergency or unexpected situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
- Ability to remain on one's feet and walk throughout the community for extended periods
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the work environment
- Ability to respond quickly to an emergency and summon appropriate assistance
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience working with older adults, in senior living, hospitality, security, customer service, or a related environment preferred
