Job Summary
Lead FOH and BOH operations by delivering unparalleled hospitality, managing daily functions including prepping product, making smoothies, and serving customers, while recruiting, interviewing, and training new crew members. Coach Assistant Managers and staff to uphold brand standards, ensure safety compliance, and drive sales growth against budgeted expectations. Monitor inventory, manage labor for proper staffing levels, and execute marketing campaigns to maximize profitability. Perform back-of-house cooking functions and wear an owner's hat to operate the store within brand standards. Work a 50-hour week with rotating shifts, early mornings, and weekends in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of food service experience or hospitality degree
- Legally able to work within the State and Federal guidelines
- Servsafe certification required
- Strong in driving operational execution in both FOH and BOH
- Self-starter; able to clarify ambiguity, make solid decisions, and create solutions in a fast-paced organization
- Continuous standing and walking throughout the duration of each shift
- Bending, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds to perform duties like stocking, refilling ice, or taking out trash
- Constant face-to-face interactions with crew members and customers
- Safely navigate in a fast-paced café environment
- Ability to multi-task and remain positive in sometimes stressful working conditions
- 50-hour work week
- Some early mornings, late evenings, weekend, and/or holiday hours and will have additional opening/closing responsibilities
- Comply with the Tropical Smoothie Cafe uniform and personal hygiene policies for each shift
- Comfortable with a high level of change
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in management or as a general manager, hotel general manager, store manager, restaurant manager or retail manager
- Previous experience at Hyatt, Avis Budget Group, Transdev, Burger King, Equity Lifestyle Properties or other restaurant/retail/hospitality positions
