Job Summary
The General Manager, Transit will oversee the Transit Division, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality services while driving operational excellence and financial performance. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, business performance management, operations management, team development, customer relations, and administrative compliance. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of leadership experience in operations or transportation, with strong skills in budget management, performance metrics, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications
- University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in an operations or transportation environment
- Experience in transit or transportation operations
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational KPIs
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and operational systems
- Minimum valid Ontario G Class Driver’s Licence
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Clear Criminal Record Search
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to travel within Central Ontario, the entire GTA and surrounding areas
