Job Summary
General Manager in Training at Syufy Enterprises seeks to learn and oversee location operations with the goal of advancing to General Manager. Responsibilities include developing the location management team, delivering exemplary customer service, aligning with company standards, managing daily location activities, monitoring inventory, payroll and expenses to maximize profitability, ensuring food/product safety, and coordinating with leadership and accounting to maintain the location’s P&L. The role emphasizes leadership through coaching, communicating expectations and values, driving guest experiences, and preparing for promotion within 6 to 12 months. The ideal candidate will have hospitality leadership experience, strong customer service, and the ability to travel as needed, with a college degree preferred and a willingness to obtain a Food Handler’s certification if not already held.
Required Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 2-3 years of experience as a restaurant, public market, or movie theater manager
- Food Handler’s Certification required, or must be completed within 30 days of hire
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time prior to GM location assignment
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Team building skills of empathy, building of self-esteem, motivational techniques, coaching and empowerment
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, and customers
- Ability to write reports, business correspondences, and procedure manuals
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
- Computer literate in Word and Excel
- Analytical ability for statistics, forecasting and budgeting
- Knowledge of all POS systems
- Must be 21 years of age
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Works effectively in a team environment
