Job Summary
Lead all aspects of air cargo handling, package sortation, and linehaul transportation operations for the Amazon Gateway on Kauai. Oversee aircraft loading and unloading, ground support for Boeing 767 cargo planes, and coordination with USPS Direct Delivery Units. Ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance with TSA and DOT standards, and achievement of client performance metrics. Provide leadership and coaching for supervisors and operational personnel while managing staffing, recruiting, and workforce readiness. Monitor operational performance, equipment schedules, and payroll review to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Operations occur primarily during late evening and early morning hours with occasional weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of leadership experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, aviation, supply chain, or operations management
- Strong background in operations management, logistics, transportation management, warehouse operations, or aviation ground handling
- Proven ability to lead, coach, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
- Experience with employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, and staffing coordination
- Knowledge of package sortation, trucking operations, cargo handling, and distribution processes
- Strong understanding of TSA, DOT, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and security procedures
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship management skills
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with reporting, analytics, payroll, timekeeping systems, and operational metrics
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- Must successfully pass all required drug screenings and background checks, including employer, customer, and/or SIDA requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Team lifting procedures required for items exceeding 50 pounds
- Ability to work in warehouse, ramp, and outdoor operational environments
- Must be available for a 7-day-per-week operation, including occasional weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial driving and package sortation experience is highly desirable
