Job Summary
General Manager – Subsurface Utility Engineering in the Dallas–Fort Worth, TX area leads and builds a new greenfield SUE operation. Responsible for establishing market presence, securing municipal and private clients, and overseeing day-to-day field and office operations across the DFW metro. Drives revenue growth through SUE, utility markout, and vacuum excavation services. Owns full P&L for the DFW division, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and EBITDA. Recruits and develops technicians, project managers, and support staff; ensures field operations meet quality, safety, and compliance standards. Coordinates with corporate leadership on growth milestones. Requires 10+ years in underground infrastructure with SUE/markout/vacuum excavation, proven regional P&L leadership, strong business development, and experience managing multi-crew field operations. Full-time role based in Dallas, TX with local travel; valid driver’s license required; relocation to the DFW area encouraged if not local. Base salary around $100,000 with quarterly commissions (3–7% of new sales revenue); health/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) eligibility after waiting period.
Required Qualifications
- 10 or more years of experience in underground infrastructure services, with direct knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), utility markout, or vacuum excavation operations
- Proven P&L leadership at a regional or divisional level, including experience building or scaling a service division
- Strong business development track record with demonstrated ability to generate new client relationships and grow recurring revenue
- Experience managing multi-crew field operations, estimating, scheduling, and QA/QC in a utility services environment
- Valid driver's license required; must be located in or willing to relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area
