Job Summary
Champion a culture of safety by implementing long-term goals, overseeing operations across multiple sites, and managing all safety escalations. Drive clear objectives and KPIs while conducting compliance audits to ensure adherence to legal regulations and internal policies. Direct workers' compensation cases, coordinate medical care for workplace accidents, and develop training programs for employees at all levels. Analyze data, compile reports, and deliver safety metric updates to leadership. Identify process changes that enhance departmental capabilities and promote continuous improvement platforms. Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A college degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, with a substantial portion in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success in driving safety initiatives within a complex organizational structure
- Experience in managing worker's compensation claims
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to interpret and apply OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI standards to Daifuku operations
- Ability to pass all necessary background checks
- Valid driver's license with insurability under the employer's insurance policy
- Hybrid working arrangement includes office, home, and on-site support
- Willingness to travel up to 60%
- Flexibility to work various shifts and hours
- Openness to off-site training and workshops
Desired Qualifications
- Basic understanding of airport operations and maintenance
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, COSM)
- Familiarity with Velocity EHS and SDS software
- Expert knowledge in safety compliance concepts and hazard identification
- Intermediate proficiency in legal and risk management concepts
- Competence in data analysis and project management tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with keen attention to detail
