General Manager – Retail & Merchandise

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end merchandise and retail strategy for the Brisbane Broncos’ merchandise and retail business. Own the merchandise and retail P&L, drive revenue growth and profitability across physical stores, eCommerce, game day events, and wholesale channels. Oversee merchandise range strategy, product development, pricing, inventory and supplier performance; build an integrated omni-channel retail experience across stadium, online, events and physical retail environments. Manage licensing, supplier, landlord and commercial partner relationships; lead and develop a high-performing merchandise and retail team. Leverage data, customer insights and performance reporting to guide commercial decisions and identify growth opportunities, including new channels, partnerships, and customer experiences. Ensure compliance with required credentials (Drivers License, Blue Card and/or WWCC) and operate in a fast-paced, values-led environment. The role emphasizes senior leadership in a sports/entertainment/fan-based consumer brand context and requires proven ability to drive revenue growth, profitability, and customer engagement across multi-channel platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Senior leadership experience in retail, merchandise, consumer products, licensing, eCommerce or a comparable commercial environment
- A proven track record of driving revenue growth, profitability and customer engagement across a multi-channel business
- Strong commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, margin management and cost control
- Experience leading merchandise, product, inventory, supplier or retail operations in a complex consumer-facing environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver growth opportunities, including new channels, partnerships, retail formats or customer experiences
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills
- Confidence using data, customer insights and performance reporting to guide commercial decisions
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop people and create a high-performance operating rhythm
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-profile and values-led environment
- Experience within sport, entertainment, licensed products, fashion, apparel or fan-based consumer brands will also be highly regarded
