Job Summary
Oversee food and beverage operations, procurement, and service across assigned units while managing budgets, sales plans, and forecasts to maximize revenue and control expenses. Direct department heads in administration, culinary production, hospitality, and warehousing to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Plan events based on anticipated attendance, support post-event reconciliation, and address escalated client feedback. Participate in recruitment and training processes as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred for Tier 2 Convention Center role.
Required Qualifications
- Tier 2 Convention Center experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish (read, write, speak)
- Experience in food and beverage operations
- Experience in merchandising operations
- Ability to optimize unit profitability
- Ability to meet day-to-day operating budget
- Ability to facilitate dining experiences that exceed guest expectations
- Ability to maximize revenue
- Ability to effectively control expenses
- Knowledge of Centerplate's standards for quality, service, timeliness, safety, security, sanitation and regulatory compliance
- Ability to plan and prepare for events and activities according to anticipated guest attendance and client expectations
- Ability to provide hands-on management and oversight
- Ability to direct and support post-event activities, reconciliation and reporting
- Ability to establish daily priorities
- Ability to direct the on-going activities of department heads in key functional areas such as administration, culinary production, hospitality, warehousing, sales, accounting and cash management
- Ability to oversee the procurement, production, preparation, service and sale of food and refreshments
- Ability to communicate and promote Centerplate's culture and values
- Ability to provide hands-on leadership and direction to department heads and staff
- Ability to ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, contractual obligations, and other legal and regulatory compliance requirements
- Ability to manage the financial performance of the venue through effective control of expenses
- Ability to develop, analyze and implement budgets, sales plans and forecasts
- Experience in recruitment, selection and training processes
