Job Summary
General Manager of the Will Rogers Memorial Complex (WRMC) accountable for the efficient operation and overall management of the venue, driving business development, operational excellence, and customer service. Oversees planning, scheduling, and execution of equestrian and livestock events, galas, trade shows, banquets, conventions, and community events; develops and implements goals, policies, procedures, and long-term strategies; serves as primary liaison with city leadership, promoters, vendors, exhibitors, entertainers, and stakeholders to ensure exceptional guest experiences and long-term venue success; ensures compliance with regulations and licensing; manages annual operating budgets, contracts, and financial performance; plans staffing and equipment needs; supports marketing and public relations to enhance visibility and attendance; fosters a positive, professional, service-oriented culture focused on accountability and guest satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business/Hospitality/Agricultural Management/Recreation & Tourism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in an arena, convention center, hotel, or other similar public assembly facility.
