Job Summary
The distribution center general manager plans, directs, coordinates and implements all warehouse policies/procedures for the warehouse operation, leading site management to achieve optimum efficiency and profitability using the Kenco Operating System (KOS/Shingo). Responsibilities include managing safety, operations, quality, financial and regulatory functions; developing long-term site strategies; tracking KPIs and driving continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen, A3s, Gemba walks); coaching site management and staff; building strong customer relationships; and promoting Lean culture while ensuring talent bench strength and cross-functional efficiency. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business and 7+ years in a DC/warehouse environment with leadership of salary and hourly staff; experience with SAP/Red Prairie/High Jump is highly desired; Six Sigma belts preferred; strong communication, change management, and relationship-management skills; and proficiency with common business software.
