Job Summary
Operational leader of an independent Philadelphia bar/restaurant, overseeing daily bar and dining-room operations, leading a 20-30 person team from the floor, driving guest satisfaction, profitability, and consistency. Collaborates with ownership, develops managers and future leaders, manages scheduling, labor, payroll, inventory, costs, vendor relations, and POS/reservation systems, coordinates events, supports local marketing, maintains food safety and regulatory compliance, and sustains a strong hospitality culture while delivering exceptional guest experiences. Five-day workweek with 50-55 hours, evenings/weekends/holidays required. Qualifications include 2+ years in GM or hospitality leadership, P&L understanding, and proven team development.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of General Manager or hospitality leadership experience
- Experience leading busy restaurant, bar, or hospitality operations
- Experience managing teams of 20+ employees
- Strong understanding of restaurant P&Ls and financial controls
- Experience with scheduling, payroll, and labor management
- Inventory, purchasing, and cost-control experience
- Proven success developing and retaining teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Food safety knowledge
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
