Job Summary
General Manager I role based in Orlando overseeing a facility with up to $19M in revenue. Responsible for leading and mentoring a cross-functional team (Facility Managers, Sales Professionals, Maintenance Experts, Administrators), owning the facility’s P&L, driving profit growth, and ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations. Key duties include hiring/training, budgeting and profit planning, optimizing routing and logistics with tools like Route Smart, implementing the Safety Program, building customer relationships, negotiating contracts, and representing GFL in the community. Travel flexibility and leadership in operational performance are required to maintain regional footprint and drive company objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university
- 5+ years in the waste/environmental services industry (preferred) or equivalent management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Ability to read and interpret profit plans (ROA, EBITDA) and manage a facility’s P&L
