Job Summary
General Manager I - Distribution responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations (receiving, storing, shipping) and driving strategic process improvements to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Lead and coach a team of Operations Managers and staff, ensure safety compliance and a clean, efficient environment, and manage vendor relationships to deliver cost-effective services. Utilize WMS/automation to monitor inventory and performance metrics, prepare reports (MBR/QBR) for customers, and drive continuous improvement. Directly influence site profitability through strong customer relationships and effective P&L management; preferred experience in 3PL/contract logistics and staff development. The role emphasizes leadership, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making within a large, multi-facility logistics organization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years managerial/supervisory experience
- 2+ years experience in a supply chain, warehousing or distribution environment
- Staff management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred)
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience (preferred)
- Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics (preferred)
- P&L management experience (preferred)
- Project management experience (preferred)
