Job Summary
General Manager, NYC will own the NYC market end-to-end: operations, field team leadership, and critical relationships with city agencies and stakeholders. You’ll build and lead a growing NYC-based team, deploy and maintain modular restroom units, manage incident response and escalation, ensure NYC regulatory compliance, and drive performance through KPIs, uptime, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include P&L ownership, operating infrastructure development, field operations leadership, recruitment and retention of field staff, incident management, and ongoing government, stakeholder, and client relations. The role requires deep NYC operational knowledge, proven track record in operations or public space programs, political savvy, financial fluency, clear communication, and an entrepreneurial, mission-driven mindset. Education/experience preference includes a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in related fields with a NYC focus.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in operations, public space management, or closely related field with strong preference for NYC-focused experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Deep NYC knowledge and existing relationships or ability to build them across NYC agencies, elected offices, and community organizations
- Operational track record in logistics or public space programs in NYC
- Political savvy and ability to navigate government relationships
- Financial fluency and budget trade-offs
- Strong communication, transparency, and reliability in stakeholder engagement
- Entrepreneurial DNA and ability to work in ambiguity
- Mission-aligned passion for public restroom access
